π₯ Introducing the New Spring-Thing Heavy-Duty Polyurethane Kit
After years of offering our original Spring-Thing neoprene pads, we are excited to introduce a new option for truck owners who want a firmer, more wear-resistant material.
The new Spring-Thing Heavy-Duty Polyurethane Kit uses durable red polyurethane pads designed to help reduce the same annoying rear leaf spring clunks, squeaks, tapping, popping and banging that Spring-Things has been addressing since 2020.
The polyurethane version installs the same way as our original kit, requires no suspension disassembly, and fits trucks with rear leaf springs at least 2.5 inches wide.
π΄ Why We Added a Polyurethane Version
Our original neoprene Spring-Things remain a great solution for reducing leaf spring noise, and they are not going anywhere.
But different trucks, driving conditions, loads and suspension movement can place different levels of stress on the pads. We wanted to give customers another option for applications where a firmer and more wear-resistant material is preferred.
Heavy-Duty Polyurethane
- Made from durable red polyurethane
- Firmer than our original neoprene pads
- More resistant to compression and long-term wear
- Maintains its shape under repeated suspension movement
- Well suited for frequent driving, towing, hauling and rough-road use
- Installs in approximately 15β20 minutes
π οΈ What Spring-Things Is Designed to Do
Spring-Things pads install between the individual leaves in a rear leaf spring pack to help cushion the contact points where movement can create noise.
They are designed to help reduce or eliminate noises such as:
- Rear leaf spring clunks
- Squeaks and creaks
- Tapping or popping sounds
- Leaf-to-leaf banging over bumps
- Noise caused by movement within an otherwise serviceable spring pack
Installation does not require removing the leaf springs, taking apart the spring pack, drilling, welding or removing the wheels.
βοΈ Polyurethane or Neoprene?
Both versions are designed to solve the same basic problem, but they give customers two different material choices.
Choose Polyurethane If:
- You want our firmer, more wear-resistant option
- Your truck sees frequent use
- You regularly tow or haul
- You drive on rough roads or uneven surfaces
- Long-term resistance to compression is a priority
Choose Neoprene If:
- You want our original proven Spring-Thing material
- You prefer a softer and more flexible pad
- You want the lowest-cost Spring-Thing option
- Your primary goal is simply reducing annoying leaf spring noise
The polyurethane version does not replace the neoprene kit. Instead, it gives customers another option depending on their truck, budget and driving conditions.
